Accomodation :
Kurumba Cottages, In keeping with the life style of the ancient Kurumba folk, our cottages are airy and exotic with their Kurumba - tribal - styled roofed cottages, which are, pyramid shaped and bright interiors with pristine color and tiled work roofs. Every room has its exclusive balcony with ornamental railings made of areca-nut wood. There are king size beds surrounded by intriguing Kurumba artifacts and painting, on the arches and walls.
Lemon yellow and mild brown of the earth are our predominant colors. The wide and yet delicate French windows would allow perennially splendid views even as you are relaxing and lying on your beds. All the bathrooms are built in such a way that you would have a spectacular view through the bay window of the hilly horizon while your own privacy will be affirmed. The area of comfort and convenience in each room would be around 500 sq.ft.
Kurumba Suites, The suites are two storeyd with the bedroom upstairs and the dressing room downstairs. The bedrooms are with king size beds and windows large enough to meet the floor and the ceiling; the view through the French window is simply fantastic. The dressing room has a sofa-cum-bed. Each suite is a little less than a 1000 sq. ft.
Location:
Our dreamland is situated adjacent to the ghat road between Ooty and Mettuppalayam at the area known as Upper Burliar . Our resort could be reached also by one of the most romantic of vehicles: The Nilgiri Mountain Train except that you reach Coonoor and travel by road for 12 kms. According to the Discovery Channel the Nilgiri Mountain Railway is on the steepest track. And till Mettuppalayam you could reach by the Blue Mountain (The Nilgiri) Express on a broad gauge train; From the bottom of the hill upto Ooty it is by the Mountain Railway and the Cog Wheel till Coonoor; To watch the chugging of the train is one of the most romantic experiences. The quaint little stations with such old British names as Runnymede Aderley and hill grove are still there to charm you.
